I’ve always been fascinated with mechanical things. When I was 2½ years old, I was mesmerized by a crane working in our city. When I was 5 years old, I begged my parents to attend the launch and first test flight of the Orion spacecraft (EFT-1) from Cape Canaveral.
I’m 17 now, a high school senior, and I want to be an Aerospace Engineer. I want to study with people who are as passionate as I am about advanced aerospace technologies and the potential they hold - not only for human and unmanned exploration, but also for solving some of our most daunting problems here on Earth.
Besides challenging myself with a rigorous STEM and Humanities course load, I’m undertaking an interesting passion project - using a vintage Spitfire race car as an engineering platform to investigate performance, reliability, and safety improvements.
When I’m not studying or working on my project, I enjoy tennis, martial arts, video games, and weight training. I recently got my Taekwondo Black Belt, and my Technician Class Amateur Radio License. This year I’ll be tutoring calculus and serving as a senior peer counselor. I’m looking forward to collaborating with and supporting my fellow classmates as we all prepare for college next year.
